The warmth of our facility, our staff and our residents is evident as soon as you enter Freighter View Assisted Living Community in Sault Ste. Marie. The specially designed environment looks and feels like a home, featuring beautiful and inviting common areas, spacious private suites, and well-designed private baths with walk-in showers. Enjoy meals and activities in our separate kitchen and gathering area that can be used for private family gatherings.

Individual Care Plans

Personal care plans are designed to reflect individual preferences and existing capabilities, as well as support diminishing skills. Each plan is carefully developed and regularly updated after extensive input from the resident, his/her healthcare providers and family. The highly trained, professional and compassionate staff carefully implements and monitors each personal care plan. 

Personal Care Assistance 

Our dedicated and compassionate staff provides as much assistance as needed while encouraging independence. Our professional team can provide daily assistance with all personal care needs, including bathing, grooming, dressing, ambulating, dining, toileting, etc.

Full-Service Dining 

Residents enjoy good company as well as fresh, delicious and healthy meals and snacks prepared daily. We strive to offer plenty of choices to enhance the dining experience. Dietary considerations are available to meet individual needs. An effective hydration program complements meals and snacks throughout the day.

Health Promotion & Monitoring 

Regular wellness visits are provided by our licensed staff. Communication with each resident’s personal physician is on-going.

Medication Management

We ensure that medications are taken properly and coordinate prescription refills between physicians and the pharmacy.

Social, Recreational and Educational Activites

While maintaining long-lasting relationships with family and friends, our activities offer additional opportunities for our residents to interact and forge new friendships. Activities are designed to enhance  quality of life and provide enjoyment. 

Housekeeping and Laundry Services

Freighter View Assisted Living Community’s extensive housekeeping and personal linen laundry services allow our residents to concentrate on the more important things in life.  

Transportation and Escort Service

Residents enjoy the comfort and convenience of a knowledgeable staff member accompanying them to scheduled appointments throughout Sault Ste. Marie and the region.
